How to wear a summer yukata.
If you ever plan to visit Japan and stay in a traditional inn (ryokan) it’s advisable to learn how to wear a yukata. Yukata are provided at ryokan for all to wear. Yukata are traditional cotton wear for summer. You will see many Japanese wearing yukata in summer, especially at matsuri (traditional festivals).
The most common mistake non-Japanese make in wearing both yukata and kimono is to wear them backwards. NEVER wear Japanese clothes crossed right over left!
